  • Decarbonisation

    Since 2020 we have reduced our market-based scope 1&2 GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions by 90% through the transition to 100% renewable electricity sources

    Investing with Purpose

    Our investments are guided by a commitment to the future. Through DC Thomson Capital we are backing teams that are making an impact in the future of food and nutrition and natural resources.

In 2025, we measured our full Scope 3 carbon footprint baseline and are working towards setting a science-aligned target for emissions reductions across our supply chain. Simultaneously we’re advocating for increasingly powerful climate content across our brands.

 

We still have a long way to go on our sustainability journey, but we’re committed to further reducing our emissions as well as playing our role in mobilising community action for the environment.

    In the winter of 2025, Beano Studios partnered with Smart Energy GB on a high-impact, six-month licensed promotional campaign aimed at communicating the benefits of smart meters to older, digitally disengaged audiences across the UK.


    Our mission was clear: drive awareness, shift attitudes, and build understanding of smart meters. 

Climate champions

We couldn’t do this work without dedicated colleagues from across the business joining our Climate Champions Group, acting as ambassadors for nature and climate at DC Thomson, driving culture change so that sustainability is embedded in all our activities.
