Sustainability at DC Thomson
Using our influence today to create a sustainable future for generations to come
At DC Thomson we’re committed to a sustainable future. As a family-owned business, sustainability is in our DNA. Every community needs its champions – someone who knows and cares about them, who will stand up for them and take positive action. For us, that means being custodians of our natural world. We recognise our position and responsibility to shape the story in multiple ways:
-
Through our audience reach we have the influence to make a real difference in tackling the climate and biodiversity crisis’ through raising awareness, uniting and inspiring.
-
Through our investments we are backing businesses that are making an impact in in the future of food and nutrition and natural resources.
-
Our assets and knowledge built over decades of supporting high growth, innovative businesses allow us to make bold, long-term decisions.

-

-
Investing with Purpose
Our investments are guided by a commitment to the future. Through DC Thomson Capital we are backing teams that are making an impact in the future of food and nutrition and natural resources.
We still have a long way to go on our sustainability journey, but we’re committed to further reducing our emissions and other negative environmental impacts.
Measuring our full Scope 3 carbon footprint is complex but we’re in the process of calculating our baseline carbon footprint for FY25. Simultaneously we’re building a strategy to reduce our own carbon emissions, identify and influence the environmental impact of our supply chain and advocate for increasingly powerful climate content across our brands.
